Vinga devotee feats

Submitted by Rob Smith on Fri, 13/07/2012 – 08:37

Hi

Am I right in thinking that a Vingan devotee would choose from the list of feats provided for Orlanth devotees, being a sub-cult of Orlanth?

In HQ1 the Vinga cult was distinct and detailed in the Storm Tribe book, but that seems to have gone from HQ2

Regards

Rob

I think that Vinga still has her own feats, just as Hedkoranth has his own feat(s)

Yeah, I would hope so, but haven’t been able to find any in the current incarnation of HQ, SKoH or SC.

So I’ve been looking to adapt feat ideas from passages in the Book of Heortling Mythology (with specific reference to Vinga wandering from hearth to hearth during the Great Darkness, keeping people connected and their spirits up- which could be useful in Sartar from 1619/20 onwards).

But any ‘official’ pointers would be useful.

That’s going to depend on the local cult. In most Orlanthi lands, Vinga is not going to have a separate cult beyond the “This is how women get to be Orlanth.” So tribal centers are likely to have a shrine to Orlanth as a Woman (aka Vinga) but the small numbers of women devotees of Orlanth are most likely to devote to whatever is the locally important Orlanth cult(s).

That being said, in a few places Vinga is that locally important Orlanth cult. Probably the most famous myth of that cult is when Vinga killed Erladivus (pg. 72 of Heortling Mythology) which I can easily see as a feat.
