Soldiers of the Red Moon / Rune Metal Jacket Submitted by Torbjörn Andersson on Tue, 18/12/2012 – 14:30
The manuscript for “Soldiers of the Red Moon” got lost at the Avalon Hill in the Monarch Wasteland. Parts of it re-surfaced as “Rune Metal Jacket”. Would it be possible to re-assemble the whole thing?

Back in 1995

1994-1997 was the time of Soldiers of the Red Moon. It was to be an AH product, but stopped when Chaosium & AH went their separate ways in 1997, with Tales announcing in issue 10 that “Soldiers of the Red Moon had been abandoned by mutual agreement between MOB and Avalon Hill”.
Rune Metal Jacket was a Convention tournament game using the MGF “system” written by Michael O’Brian in 1995. The player characters play inexperienced soldiers keeping the peace in the troubled puppet kingdom of Sartar. It was only four pages long.
As to what stage the manuscript reached, I don’t know. But it’s unlikely that it will reform 16 years later. Ideas have changed about the Lunar Empire, but MOB is involved in the Guide to Glorantha and some of his work is in there.
I’ll see if MOB can answer more.
