Updated King of Sartar

Submitted by Heort on Wed, 11/07/2012 – 14:03

I heard about an updated version of King of Sartar, could you tell us more?It seems that a lot of things from the old KoS were included in Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes (orlanthi mythology, orlanthi social rules…), so why a new KoS…? Does that mean that you are going to expand the Argrath saga…?

KoS returns

First I think it’s important to realise that it’s been out of print for a long time, it was first published in 1992. So it makes sense to bring it back as it’s a key Gloranthan document. It’s number one in the Stafford Library and there are loads of people out there that don’t have a copy.
Second, if it’s going to be republished, it should be updated it to reflect the twenty years of experience we have had discovering Glorantha. Greg used to wander around cons with his copy for reference. If you ever saw it, it was annotated! It had “real” dates and other cool stuff he has scribbled in the margins, loads of it. Jeff has that copy, and that forms the basis for the new book.
If you already have it, then there are some changes and yes some of the stuff is in Sartar. But in my opion this is more about getting into the hands of those who don’t have it.—–David Scott
