The Nine Good Giant Mountains are about 60 km or so northwest of Pavis. They are nine tall pillars which rise starkly from the worn ground about them. Legend is imprecise whether these formations were volcanoes or creatures. Below them is a troll settlement humans call Trollville, that is the frontier with the Shadowlands. The Redwood Forest is another 25-30 kilometers away, an old elf stronghold.
Now none of these places are all that far away from New Pavis, say about 3 days to get to the Nine Good Giant Mountains, and 4 or 5 days total to get to the Redwood Forest.
Beyond the Redwood Forest are the Rockwoods, high mountains, a wall well over 3000 meters feet high, with many peaks over 4000 meters or more.
