The Battle of Dangerford (page 5)

    Date (page 2)

According to The Eleven Lights, p.169 the Battle at Dangerford happened 1625, Dark Season, Death Week, Windsday.

The Eleven Lights happens in its own timeline as an adventure supplement. If you are playing those adventures use the timetable in the book (which is flexible).

If you are playing the Starter Set adventures, use God Day, Movement Week, Earth Season.

The difference between the dates, is that in the latter, Kallyr has time to visit Jonstown (With the support of Kallyr Starbrow, the Cinsina, Culbrea, Malani, and Torkani Tribes have formed a free City Ring and a new City Rex was appointed by the Prince and acclaimed by the assembled citizens), and Boldhome to be proclaimed Prince and then Vasana & Co have plenty of time to return to Jonstown. Otherwise, in the former, it’s all in two weeks. If you are playing through from the Red Cow campaign into the starter set there are likely to be further differences, so go with what happens at your table, rather than shoe-horning the timeline.

If you playing the Red Cow campaign under RQG, just move the Battle of Dangerford into Earth season. So Kallyr liberates Boldhome, then Jonstown, then the Battle of Dangerford, then back to Boldhome to become Prince.

Finally note that the Creek is only fully fordable in Earth & Fire seasons. That’s why the Engizi priests raise the water.

But according to The Eleven Lights, p.169 the Battle at Dangerford happened 1625, Dark Season, Death Week, Windsday, i.e. two seasons before the adventurers reach Jonstown and A Rough Landing starts.

The Eleven Lights and the RuneQuest Starter Set dates are both correct. Base your date on which campaign you are running.

    182 (page 83)

    In the combat described:

    A) Are the MPs in Vasana’s storage crystal included OR

    No.

    B) Does the sequence of steps leading up to entry 182 sever (if only temporarily) Vasana’s access to the MPs stored in the crystal

    No.

    Quote

The magic points in a storage crystal can be used to cast spells, but they do not count in magic resistance. The crystal also cannot be used to replace any magic points that an adventurer has used from their own reserve to cast spells.

GM Screen Pack, Adventure book, Spirit Trapping/POW Storing Crystals, POW Storage, page 122

Note that this is the same as RQ2 & 3.

Damage from spirit combat is applied directly to the target’s magic points. They cannot use their stored magic points as a soak or replace lost magic points from their crystal.

Note that POW Storing Crystals or any other magic point storage when used for spells or other effects, transfers directly to the spell or effect at 1pt/SR (the normal casting rate). Recharging takes one melee round to store 1 magic point in the crystal (same as magic point enchantments). Note that recharging in a stressful situation may need a concentration roll.

(and a B1: do the MPs in said crystal dissipate — I’ve never seen a crystal situation where it wasn’t empty when found)?

    Yes, when the owner dies.
