Beyond the eastern highlands of the River of Cradles is Vulture Country, a desolate badlands. Some 50 km wide, the area is an arid desert getting no more than 0 to 20 cm of precipitation a year. It is bleak, rocky, dry, and seemingly lifeless.
The Copper Sands are only about 120 km from Vulture’s Country, and metallic-tinged dust storms are common.
Despite this, the Animal Nomads and their herds can survive here, and they know of routes that allow passage between the River of Cradles and the Genert Wastes. The Arnstadle Path was taken by the Bison and Impala tribes and their herds after their defeat at the First Battle of Moonbroth.
Broo also survive in Vulture’s Country, and the Witch Queen Muriah is a feared, nearly legendary figure.
There are also plenty of vultures, condors, and hyenas, and even some smilodons and bird-dinosaurs.
