The two groups of dwarves that Sartarites are most likely to be familiar with are:
Dwarf Mine. This very large dwarf community rarely interacts with humans outside of Dwarf Stronghold Inn and Goranthal. They were allied to Sartar and helped him build his cities and his roads, but his son Saronil offended them and dwarves are rarely seen in Boldhome. It is believed that Dwarf Mine is ruled by The Dwarf, an ancient Mostali from before the Dawn. Kings, princes, and heroes are known to seek his aid, which is happy to give for a steep price.
Pavis/Big Rubble. This small community of about 200 or so dwarves are the master masons and crafters of New Pavis and are also often found in the Big Rubble around their stronghold at the Flintnail Temple. They revere Flintnail and his friend Lord Pavis, and are still loyal to the memory of Old Pavis. Unusual for dwarves, they are officially tolerant of elves (even if that tolerance is often grudgingly given), but they have the typical dwarf hatred of trolls. These dwarves are not an uncommon sight in the streets of New Pavis, and several dwarves maintain shops outside of Dwarfside. The Pavis dwarfs are considered apostate by most other dwarfs, and it is not known whether there is communication between the Pavis dwarfs and Dwarf Mine.
