Here’s part of my scenario notes from the heroquest I ran using RQG at GenCon. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that RQ is massively crunchy in terms of prep work – I did a lot of prep, but nearly all was about potential choices, archetypes, obstacles, and potential rewards. Plus includes crude Jeff drawings!
I don’t do the KoDP repeat a myth you need to learn previously in play like you are putting on a drama. Some of my players knew a lot of Glorantha and other knew next to none. But they could play with archetypes and mythological tropes and make a brand new Glornathan myth out of them. As we learned, the Red Door is important, free the enslaved god, and despite all warnings, force a contest with the Blonde Beast. And don’t worry that the drowned corpse is red and not blue. That obviously doesn’t matter.
