The Quivin Mountains are a rugged massif in east Dragon Pass, arguably a spur off the Storm Mountains. They are about 27 km from west to east, and 20 km from north to south, covering some 540 square km (210 square miles). That’s a little smaller than Zion National Park for point of comparison. The mountains are high – there are thirteen peaks over 2000 meters in height (6600 feet), and the highest is over 3100 meters (10,200 feet). Above 2500 meters (8200 feet) there is usually snow and ice year round.
The massif is incised by deep valleys and gorges, and it is believed that there are secret paths crossing it. However, given that it is known that there is a Dragonewt City in one of the gorges, even those not dissuaded by the rough terrain avoid going into the mountains.
