From the Sartarite perspective, the Hero Wars last some 30 years or even more. It is likely that a 21 year adventurer who survives the next thirty years has fought in a dozen terrible battles, has survived sieges and assaults, has dealt with unknown spirits, learned previously unknown things about their own gods, has spoken to dragons, interacted with dwarves, elves, and trolls, and has been from Pavis to Glamour, from Nochet to the Redlands. They’ve likely married, perhaps several times, and likely has had children and even grandchildren.
They might barely recognize the adventurer they started as, or the Sartar they originally fought for. They might end up with lands and allies in Tarsh or Saird, or they might be as penniless and broke as they start. They might love and hate Argrath, and the gods that started them on this quest, but regardless of the particulars, they have had quite an epic.
