I should mention that this is not the final-final version of the image, after a while of working on a piece like this you stop seeing the big picture. So a few weeks later I usually do touch-ups and fixes. So it’s nicer now. As for the llama, I had to cram four fairly large animals into the frame and show their riders the best I could, so that their gear was clearly visible and so on. (not to mention the herd and riders in the back) I cheated a bit with the impala and put it on the ground, so that it took less space. 😀 The 9th plate (Fronela was it?) is an example where I used a much further position for the “camera”, but it’s a similar situation – four horsemen in the foreground and armies at the back. Both can work, but it’s always a tough call with these Osprey-like plates.
