Trolltown in The Big Rubble I

Posted on July 15, 2024

Some 2000 trolls now reside in Trolltown. Powerful troll kinship groups have taken over the intact villas, which may be the home of 50-120 dark trolls, trollkin, and great trolls. The largest are the centers of the powerful troll clans such as the Javis, Loricek, and Xaragang clans – the most powerful clan, the Kaggroka, have established themself on Temple Hill, although they also control several villas in Trolltown.

A rough breakdown of the condition of the ruins in Trolltown:

  • 01-06 Type A ruin. These buildings have complete walls, are mostly roofed (though the roof may be a recent addition by current tenants), and are often multi-storied with all stories intact. They are fully inhabitable and often show signs of recent repair.
  • 07-35 Type B ruin. These buildings have many complete walls, some roofs, and fairly intact ceilings and floors. If they were originally multi-story, they probably have but one intact story left. Though habitable, they are often inhabited by beings too weak to seize Type A buildings.
  • 36-82 Type C ruin. The most common type of ruin in the Rubble, having broken walls, partial roofs and floors, and will be generally uninhabitable for humans. With work, such ruins might be upgraded to Type B. Burnt-out Type A and B ruins mostly become Type Cs.
  • 83-00 Type D ruin. Little more than foundations still show that buildings were once here. Type D ruins may mask perfectly habitable cellars.

As a general rule, the type A ruins in Trolltown are up to 3 stories high, as are a few of the type B ruins. All type C and D ruins are a single floor. All of the type A and type B ruins are inhabited, and many of the type C ruins are occupied by bands of trollkins or giant insects.

There are numerous shrines and minor temples to Kyger Litor in Trolltown, although the great temple is atop Temple Hill. There are major temples to Argan Argar and Xiola Umbar atop Temple Hill as well, plus numerous shrines in Trolltown.

Zorak Zoran‘s temple is in the Loricek territory in a burnt out building in Riverside.
