A magazine focusing primarily on fantasy role-playing topics. The magazine was published by Judges Guild from 1976 to 1981. Later issues typically included an adventure or a dungeon.
The title printed on the cover varied throughout the 25-issue run. The first two issues were titled solely “Judges’ Guild” and were spartan newsletters. The title appeared as “Judges Guild Journal” on issues 13, 14, 17, and 18. Early issues were published in “newspaper” format.
Issue 22 was combined with issue 19 of The Dungeoneer, and both titles appear on the cover – The Dungeoneer (Issue 19) / The Judges Guild Journal (Issue 22 – Aug/Sep/Oct 1980) – whereupon the two publications were merged as “The Dungeoneer Journal”.
