The Greatest of the Power Rune gods

Posted on June 28, 2025

So lets think about the greatest of the Power Rune gods:

  • Harmony: That is Chalana Arroy, part of both the Lightbringers and Solar pantheons, plus beloved by Storm Bull, Aldrya, and plenty of others.
  • Disorder: OK that’s a weird one – Bolongo! Who the heck worships Bolongo outside of Pamaltela? No one, that’s who! I’m sure that when the God Learners made it to Pamaltela and saw the Bolongo cult they went – WHOAH! Those guys make Eurmal seem orderly!
  • Fertility: Uleria. Everyone loves Uleria. The Lightbringers, the Solars, the Pamaltelans, you name it. She’s universal. But everyone also has a more practical fertility deity or three.
  • Death: Humakt. Really only the Lightbringers like this guy. Everyone else views him as too … lethal. There are lots of second tier Death gods that are usually a little easier – Babeester Gor, Maran Gor, Shargash, Storm Bull, Waha, and even Zorak Zoran.
  • Stasis: Mostal. It’s interesting how few of the greater gods have the Stasis rune, as that tends to show how most of them managed to accommodate the Gods War and roll with it. Only the dwarfs really want a stagnant cosmos.
  • Movement: Mastakos. Shared by the Lightbringers and the Sea Gods. Those groups of gods just can’t stand still, can they?
  • Truth: Dayzatar. That’s right it is the All-Seeing Eye or Eternal Torch beyond the skies that is the god of Truth. There are lots of other gods that are truthy – Lhankor Mhy, Humakt, Yelmalio – but Dayzatar won’t accept a smidgeon of lie.
  • Illusion: Eurmal. The Trickster is the maker of Illusions more than even disorder. He turns the world upside down, reflects us in the funhouse mirror, and loves to point out the fragility of “truth”. Again only the Lightbringers love this god.

So if clump them together:
Lightbringers get Death, Fertility, Harmony, Movement, and Illusion as strong powers that they embrace.
Solars get Fertility, Harmony, and Truth as strong powers that they embrace.
