The Dragon Pass

Posted on December 12, 2022

Dragon Pass is the name often applied to the broad 180 km wide pass between the Rockwoods and the Skyreach Mountains (which are a subrange of the Western Rockwoods). Those ranges have many high mountains.

In the Skyreach Mountains, Arrowmound mountain is 4000 meters tall and Doktados is even higher at 4120 meters. That’s two hundred meters shorter than Mount Rainier or the Matterhorn. You can easily see Arrowmound from Wilmskirk or Clearwine or Furthest.

The Rockwoods are even higher. Ormfang, the westernmost peak, is 5,000 meters tall. That’s a little taller than Mont Blanc or a little shorter than Mount Ararat. Greatway is even taller, at 6,400 meters. That’s a good Andes peak. You can see Greatway almost anywhere in Dragon Pass.

Of course the biggest peak in all of Dragon Pass is Kero Fin, which is over 12,000 meters tall on a base only 14 km wide. No wonder it looks like a needle!

Artist, Matt Ryan

How high is the pass? The pass over the Dragonspine is at 1150 meters.

How far above Sea Level is Apple Lane? Alone? Pavis? Apple Lane is about 850 meters, Alone is 1000 meters.
