It’s a little over 40 km from Swenstown to the Dead Place or Moonbroth and maybe 65 km from Swenstown to the Block.
Not that is not all that far. That transition from reasonably well-watered highland to arid desert happens a lot in the American Southwest (my mental image is Flagstaff or Santa Fe).
But it should also remind us how Sartar and Prax overlap, and not only in the River of Cradles. Pimper’s Block is a Sartarite settlement. Contact and interaction between the two cultures is constant – and primarily peaceful. Much of this is through trade and shared cult centers, and not raiding or war (although that certainly happens).
The most Sartar-influenced tribe is of course the Pol-Joni, but the Great Tribes all have long traditions of contact with Sartar (especially the Bison, High Llama, and Impala tribes).
And maybe this goes to explain why many Sartarites ride Praxian beasts instead of horses!
Moonbroth is not all that far at all. Also I think it is certainly not out of the ordinary for sacrifices and offerings to be made at the Block or even Tourney Altar.
