RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha and RuneQuest: Fantasy Roleplaying are separate game lines, and as such will co-exist. For those familiar with our other games, this is similar to Call of Cthulhu and Cthulhu by Gaslight.
Why are you making RuneQuest: Fantasy Roleplaying? RuneQuest: Fantasy Roleplaying focuses very intently on a single location in Glorantha (Pavis and the Big Rubble), rather than the entire continent of Dragon Pass. It is our intention that new players will find an accessible doorway into the world of RuneQuest that many of us have loved for decades.
Can I use RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha supplements in my RuneQuest: Fantasy Roleplaying games? Yes. The mechanics of RuneQuest: Fantasy Roleplaying will be familiar to those who have played other versions of RuneQuest and BRP games like Call of Cthulhu. We will release a conversion guide with the new game, because we expect people to mix materials from both games.
Will Chaosium release the remaining books in the Cults of RuneQuest series? Yes. As noted above, RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha will continue to exist as a product line. The next Cults of RuneQuest book will be out in April 2025.
