Population demographics of New Pavis and the Big Rubble

If we look at Pavis and the Big Rubble as a whole, there are some 7400 humans, 2500 trolls, 1000 aldryami, 200 dwarfs, 150 dragonewts, and 750 other sentients (including broo & chaos), for a grand total of 12,000 sentients.

First observation – that makes Pavis and the Big Rubble about the same population as Boldhome. Of course because of its size, it has barely one-sixth the population density of Boldhome (which is not a densely populated city). But still there are a lot of folk there!

Second, a little over 60% of the population is human. Fully 20% are trolls, and over 8% are aldryami. Heck, almost 2% are dwarfs. Now let’s assume that the overwhelming majority of trolls never enter New Pavis – there are still enough trolls that pretty much every human in New Pavis has seen trolls. Many have interacted with them, at least briefly.

Same thing with elves (which no doubt maintain closer ties to New Pavis than the trolls do). And of course the dwarfs are tied to the Pavis and Flintnail cults in the city.

Many attribute this to the magic of Lord Pavis Half-Elf, who was also friend and ally to Flintnail the Dwarf. The trolls are of course the enemy and shadow of Lord Pavis, and so are benefitted despite being invaders.

The elves have a strong association with the cults of Pavis, Ernalda, and Yelmalio, and are tied to Flintnail. I think they have much deeper ties to New Pavis than the trolls, who at the end of the day are hated as invaders and destroyers.
