Lionfish seems like a strange name for a follower of Argan Argar.
Lionfish is Esrolian. Not sure if he’s from Nochet proper, but he’s certainly from that queendom.
Is Lionfish a fancy name for a “loan shark?
This is, in fact, the closest anyone here’s gotten to the origin of this character’s name.
I presume the crystals around Garrath’s neck are power crystals – is there a particular reason they’re blue? I’ve always imagined them as basically clear or cloudy quartz. And not shaped, as they are.
Those aren’t power crystals, they are something much more special. We’ll find out what later on.
Why is the woman of Vinga half drawing her sword? I’d take that is a really REALLY bad sign when you’ve been invited as a guest in someone’s home…
Well, put yourself in her shoes. You get dragged to a gang-affiliated area of the town, late at night, into a room filled with people armed to the teeth, and one of them hears you whisper from across the room and calls out your companion *by name* even though none of you have ever met this guy or introduced yourselves. If this doesn’t sound like a trap, I don’t know what does!
Is there are particular rule system this comic is based on?
No, no rules system, at least not any that I would consider it. Jeff might have one in mind when writing, but i also kind of doubt it. Ultimately, the comic is about Glorantha, not about RuneQuest or HeroQuest or any other game system.
