Runequest-Con 2 Compendium (1995)

Explore the Mysteries of Glorantha!

In January of 1995, 300 members of the Glorantha-tribe gathered together in San Francisco at RuneQuest-Con 2, to celebrate the world of Glorantha and the game of RuneQuest. Special guests included Greg Stafford, Sandy Petersen, and other RQ luminaries. This book collects together some of the most intriguing material from that weekend, including: narratives from the two main LARPs, The Broken Council and How the West Was One, and transcripts of seminars presented by the creators and authors of RuneQuest.

The LARP Narratives: Two Live Action games were featured at RQ-Con 2. The Broken Council allowed players to relive the creation of Osentalka, during the declining days of the long past First Age.

How the West Was One, set in Modern Glorantha, enabled players to participate in the Seventh Malkionism Council, amidst the heresies and miracles of Western Genertela. In this compendium, thirty players have written of their experiences during the LAPs. Although the results of the LARPs deviated from Real Glorantha history, the narratives are still excellent sources for learning about the real people and problems which lay behind these important Gloranthan events.

The Seminar Transcripts: Nearly a dozen seminars were held at RQ-Con 2. This compendium includes transcripts of six of the best: Greg Stafford’s Address & HeroQuesting Seminar, The Gloranthan Lore Auction, The Imther Seminar, The GMing in Glorantha Seminar, The Lunar Tunes Seminar and the Nick Brooke Cultural Exchange. Presented by the most influential authors in the RuneQuest community, these seminars explore the secrets of HeroQuesting, Illumination, the Lunar Empire, and much more.
