1998 Convulsion C4 The Next Generation (GBR)

Convulsion Goes Fourth

July 24-26, 1998
College Hall
Leicester University, UK

The convention’s Guests of Honour are Greg Stafford (creator of Glorantha, founder of Chaosium and Issaries Inc.), Robin Laws (author of “Hero Wars”, the forthcoming Glorantha RPG), Ken Rolston (former Rune Czar at Avalon Hill), and Michael O’Brien (Australia’s “Mr. Maximum Game Fun”). Honoured Guests include David Hall (editor of “Tales of the Reaching Moon”), Kevin Jacklin (the UK’s freeforming guru), Neil Robinson (of the Seattle Farmers’ Collective), Oliver Dickinson (author of “Griselda”), and others too numerous to name.

The featured freeform will be Reaching Moon Megacorp’s “Life of Moonson”, a fifty-player extravaganza of imperial decadence set in and around Moonson’s Palace; there will be three smaller Gloranthan freeforms, as well as others in various different genres.

Robin Laws will demonstrate the new Gloranthan role-playing game, “Hero Wars”, and playtest sessions will be running throughout the weekend. Tournament scenarios have been written for RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu, Elric, and Pendragon. And the packed programme of events includes the traditional mixture of Seminars, Freeforms, Trollball, Auction, Pub Quiz, Storytelling and Singalong, not forgetting the unmissable, unrepeatable, unspeakable First Night Party (in which all will be revealed).

For further information or to register, please contact Lewis Jardine or visit the Convulsion website.
