RQ Encounter Generator Praxpak meets Cult One Pagers
    http://notesfrompavis.wordpress.com/201 … ne-pagers/

RQ Encounter Generator has a major new feature – cults (and spirit societies, mystic orders and sorcery orders) as a first class citizen. Cult is a holder for spells, miracles, sorcery spells and mystic abilities. You can attach multiple cults to a template and all of their abilities will be added to the template at the time of generation. You can have additional spells and abilities on your template to enrich the basic cult.

This will make it easy to create a cult member for your template, just pick a cult/s you like and their levels (initiate, acolyte or priest etc) for your template. You can of course create your own cults as well – either from existing ones or from scratch. As a convention it is useful to mention the name of the order or cult first, then the rank in the cult.

There now exists many cults and spirit societies especially for Prax and sorcery orders for Monster Island. More will come later.

Following cults have been created and appropriate enemies and parties enhanced with these:

Spirit worshipper to high shaman for bison, impala and rhino tribes.

    Storm Bull
    Eiritha
    Waha
    From Initiate to Rune Lord/devotee

    Trolls

    Kyger Litor
    Zorak Zoran
    Humans

    Orlanth
    Lhankor Mhy
    Humakt
    Yelmalio
    Issaries
    Yanafal Tarsils
    Broos

    Mallia
    Thed
appropriate parties have been updated and a few new ones created

All of the above have also the skills based on Glorantha Cult One Pagers

Thousand thanks for the generator! It will be extremely useful for me as a future RuneQuest Glorantha game master.

I really like it, but it seems to throw up stats which are random and not believable or related to characters skills and experience.

Like high shamans with a power of 11, or veteran warrios with a strnght of 6.

any chance of rigging stats to be role and level appropriate ?

    Hi Jon,

The developer of the tool writing here.

The thing with the RQ6EG is, that anybody can create templates there and name them whatever they want. This poses a challenge in some situations, but also has allowed us to get the vast collection of different kind of enemies, that exist there today (though most of them have been created by Hannu).

So if somebody has created a template with all stats 3d6, it’s likely, that there will be warriors with STR of 6 or high shamans with POW of 11. More experienced users have specified a POW of 15+d3 or 12+d6 to high shamans.

It’s next to impossible to develop a system, that would automatically validate the templates ensuring they have high enough skills and stats, and going it manually is really not feasible, so I’m afraid there really is no easy solution to this.

Before generating an enemy you can always check the specifications – are they suitable for your need. And if you can’t find a suitable template, you can always create your own.

PS. Your comment gave me a feature idea – some kind of voting system could maybe help to distinguish the good templates from the bad ones.

This is a template creation issue. Will take a look at some of my shaman templates that they have appropriate POW. and at least higher warriors to have the STR. There are quite a few of them so this will take a bit of time. If you report which ones you would like to improve via a direct message (hkokko) in the thedesignmechanism forums I can look at those you would find most critical first.

I have done a few rounds of improving my templates in the past. This is yet another 🙂 Thanks for the feedback.

    I can only fix mine.

    September update:

RQ Encounter Generator has some new feature tables (40+) for those who want to get a bit of variety to the looks of the enemies and NPC’s generated

For the out of power stats you could also think of the specimen to be a veteran warrior gone to fat / out of practice, elderly, under a curse etc and shaman to be under a curse, weak from fights etc

Overall recent batches have tried to match the main attributes to ‘power’ level.

Now all of the veteran, master, overseer, leader shamans that I have created have either 2d4+10 or 1d6+12 as their POW. If you think that they are underpowered – please say so 🙂 Let’s think about it.

Skoll – a feature that might be useful is to be able to contact the writer of the template for suggestions etc.

Another thing might be to have a feature (for example a web page) that would show the stats in a table format – level, cult level, all the characteristics in one row and then to be able to pick for edits there without losing the selection.
