This may or may not be a long shot, but is one of you gents the same Nick who posted on Gringle’s Pawnshop in this small ads thread, regarding the Pavic Tales fanzine? Because if you are I would like to talk with you. 🙂

Me too. i have just one issue on my collection. can we enter a vicious bidding war that will ruin the winner financially or is there an alternative. Would it be feasible for person who owns the right to do so make these somehow available to larger part of tribe….

Hmmm. A bit of a search thru the interweb’s found that there was a few years ago an initiative that tried to get this done but it either ran out of steam or into issues that could not be solved, maybe rights related 🙁

I’ve got issues 1-8… I liked them back in the day. Now, they’re a nice trip down memory lane plus there’s the odd snippet that can be used, but IMO that’s about it.

I was one of the people involved in producing Pavic Tales, back in the days when I had more hair and was considerably less sober.

I’m going to ask the other editor if he doesn’t mind PDFing the issues and putting them somewhere for those that are interested.

Personally the Pavis Wall was my favorite ;-).

I’ve asked and it is ok to PDF and publish. I checked and I do still have one copy a all the issues. So I’ll work out realistically when I can scan them, but it won’t be for a while. Matthew Cole suggested we do it as a PDF where the minimal price is a donation to a charity; an idea I liked.

    Swampy,

I also have all 9 issues if you have any problems finding one or more of them. What we at Moon Design would be happy to do is sell the PDF of the set for your group, and we would donate the money to the charity of your choice. With just under 5% going to payment processing, that means over 95% of the sales price would go to charity.

    Swampy,
if this truly means there would be no copyright infringement, I can ease your work a bit and contribute PT#5. Do you have some SW to do some proper OCR? On my copy there is, but it is poor mostly because it was scanned two pages as one, rotated by 90 degrees. But otherwise the quality of the scan is very high. You could make it nice with the right tools to re-OCR it. I don’t have any. It is about 20mb and could be squeezed after OCR. I could send it via PM or offer a (personal) www dl.
