But the common folk have music with the same instruments (more or less) as the hill tribes (although different songs, different compositions, different instruments given importance).

Then again, harp musicians are probably patronized by many Orlanthi hill kings in Peloria, who look to Dara Happa for the look and trappings of power (even if they utterly reject its ideological underpinnings).

For what it is worth, I think Orlanthi music is a combination of woodwind instruments, drums, string instruments, with some vocalization (but probably not like what we are used to). I imagine something a lot more like:

Religious hymns are chanted at every festival – they might well sound more like Vedic chants:

Hmmm, I was given a cassette tape of “Authentic Viking Music” when I was younger. All I can say is that music has come a long way since then …
