Beyond what is in the Guide or in the Redland History of the Lunar Empire? The Guide has quite a lot of information on those three. Are you looking for more?

As Jeff notes, the Guide and the Redland History have most relevant material on Holay and Filichet. There is also a piece in TotRM 16 I did on the Singing Trail (the 2nd Daughter’s Road going to Imther).
There’s various material I’ve drafted but not published on some of the region as well depending on what you’re interested in.

Jeff just checking did you mean redline history or redland history?

I am juts checking that stuff im playing with for a campaign idea doesn’t clash with what’s already been written.

One thing from reading up older and stuff and the material in the guide is the some of the older stuff was seems to have been interpreted as Vinga was a major goddess of Holay, in the guide its Redaylda are these two names for the same God, was the decision made to make them distinctly different?or is it a as you fancy in your campaign thing?

Redalyda is not Vinga, since Redalyde is not Orlanth. She shares red-hair with Vinga, but Redaylda is a goddess of horses and a granter of sovereignty. She’s got much more to do with La-Ungariant and Ernalda, than with Orlanth. The Dara Happans identified her with Reladivus, the god of the Yellow City.

I meant ‘Redline’ in my comment.

As Holay is an Orlanthi land (though like Tarsh with Orlanth suppressed), it’s feasible to find Vinga, though as the female incarnation of Orlanth she’s likely to be strongly suppressed as well.

Redalyda, as Jeff said, is goddess of horses and sovereignty. She is also called in the myths the Red Woman or the Red-haired Woman. She is also the spouse of Beren (i.e. granted sovereignty of that land to Beren and his tribe of Vingkotlings).

My old stories of Saird identified Holaya as re-discovering or liberating the powers of Redaylda in the Verenmars era against the EWF.

Well as Vinga has been described as both an aspect of and daughter of Orlanth over the years, it is a not a silly question to ask.

I get the impression that sometimes ambiguity in things like this is intentional, at others it exists because ideas have morphed and developed over the years.

    Always good questions to ask!

Yes, you are correct that there’s often ambiguity, some intentional, some just there, some changed, some speculative, etc. For instance, working with Greg and drawing on GRoY, FS, and whatever else was available, I drafted most of the Verenmars Saga of Saird in the late 1990’s. From subsequent work by Greg and Jeff, which is reflected in the Guide, there’s far more Orlanthi presence, culture, etc in the provinces than what I incorporated. I’ve done some work with Jeff to reflect those changes, and there’s a lot not revised and a lot never even considered.

But you will find certain aspects existing such as: the Red Woman (as noted above), the Helmet of Perides (relic from the Battle of Night and Day), the Green Woman of Vanch, etc. The Guide and the Redline History are overall the primary (and canonical) sources.

That can be a challenge, but I always found the best way in was just to plunge in with what was at hand and ask lots of questions and make up what I thought worked best for my campaign.
