As an aside, I often post notes or things that I am working on that I think people will find interesting or useful. But I am posting this material without edits or revisions – they are all notes or works in progress. If people really expect me to edit or revise such ephemera before I post it, I am probably not going to post such things.

Gods and Goddesses of Glorantha
Doing some edits and revisions to Gods and Goddesses of Glorantha. More notes on Orlanth Rex, more on the family associations of Asrelia, Ernalda, and Maran Gor, more on the Grain Goddesses and Argan Argar, and some secrets of the Gold Wheel Dancers and Belintar the God-King. Good fun!

What is the significance of the double ended trident thingy in his left hand? It is a vajra, which is the Sanskrit word for “thunderbolt.” It is also very similar to how the ancient Greeks depicted Zeus’ thunderbolt.
The Indo-Greek art of Gandhara has had a huge impact on how I perceive Glorantha.

Lunar food
Lunar food today! Duck, mushrooms, and maize flat bread!

Claudia Loroff says The sauce is sour cherry lemon thyme onion and honey
Hon-eel blessed the cornbread!
Heartlanders can sniff all they want about the lack of rice, but who can get good rice in Furthest without connections?
Yesterday we had earthshakers stew

pork belly? yes, dinosaur was out.
Claudia Loroff – I also made a gloranthan version of green beans, pork and pears with einkorn instead of potatoes which was great, too

Clearwine Fort
here is a small version of Olivier’s amazing map of Clearwine Fort.

That looks decidedly different than it does in S:KoH.Is it a retcon, or a change as Gloranthan time has moved on a number of years? It reflects a lot more thought, and a lot more resources at my disposal.
What wine varietal is clearwine is closest too? Something like a very clear Riesling or Pinot Gris or Petite Arvince. The magic Clearwine is an ice wine.
Concept sketches of hairstyles for aristocratic Esrolian women
Here’s one of my favorite pieces by Roman Kisyov that we didn’t use in RQ – a concept sketch of hairstyles for aristocratic Esrolian women. But I am sure I will find a use in a later book:

a good Esrolian aristocrat always has a servant around to take care of her hair. Or guy. Isn’t Selkana accompanied by a muscle bound man dressed only in a loin cloth whose main function is to take care of her hair and makeup? If not, she should. She needs a muscle bound barbarian who takes care of makeup and hair. Conan the Hairdresser. Everyone knows Humakti make terrible hairstylists. All that denial of the pleasures of life, ascetic embrace of death, and so on make them way unfashionable. Everyone knows ducks are even worse stylists than Humakti. Humakti Ducks are like four times worse. I am now imagining a heroquest sponsored by the most powerful nobles in Nochet for the perfect style – the very style with which Ernalda captured the heart and mind of gods like Yelm, Orlanth, Magasta, and more.
